Methodology
The Roots pedagogical team uses a proficiency-based language instruction methodology where the student is the center of the learning process.
Students get to practice these four modalities in a cultural context in order to communicate meaningfully, effectively, respectfully, and creatively.
Roots’ instructors design comprehensive curricula which integrate activities that allow learners to practice single modalities (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as well as linked modalities (e.g. listening and speaking, reading and writing).
Cultural awareness is also an essential component of language proficiency. For this reason, Roots’ instructors include cultural activities that facilitate opportunities to practice speaking and writing in meaningful contexts.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Roots will assesses students through in-class exams, projects, homework, and surveys. We maintain high standards for our staff through progress reports, team meetings, and in-person evaluations.
By doing so, Roots frequently updates its curricula, programs, and policies to deliver the best education possible.
