In addition to our regular language courses, the academy also offers several content courses which combine linguistic development with cultural and historical understanding. Known as tasawwuf in Arabic, Sufism is the mystic practice of the Islamic faith. Its principles include ritualism, spirituality, esotericism, and non-indulgence. This course engages students in the Arabic language by teaching about the passionate nature of the Sufi practice, its Quranic interpretations, and its role in the flowering of modern Moroccan society.
